Super Size That Order...From Far Away

Technology has invaded the last bastion of Americana...the fast food drive-thru line. According to this NY Times article, McDonald's is experimenting with a central call center that takes and processes drive-thru orders from around the country. The order is then sent via the Internet back to the "restaurant" where the order is packaged. This call center method shaves a few precious seconds off of the ordering process...which in the big scheme of McDonald's, can add many new $$$$'s to a day.

Blackberry Knockout Punch?

The US Supreme Court refused to hear a patent infringement case involving Research In Motion (RIM), the maker of the very popular Blackberry mobile-phone/PDA. As noted in this article, the end may be near for Blackberry use, and we are told to keep a watch out for alternative sources for our mobile offices.

Legal Ruling May Hinder Blackberry

Even if you do not use one, chances are you have probably seen someone else talking into or pecking away at their tiny handheld Blackberry devices. Many are used in business applications as an option for remote e-mail access. According to this article, a patent infringement lawsuit may soon shut down RIM, the company that distributes the Blackberry devices.

New Start On My Web-Log

After a brief hiatus spent designing my web site (www.goodmanfirm.com) for my law practice,  I am back posting on typepad. I will link to this page from my firm web site; much easier than trying to publish and organize log entries thru the site itself....I just wish I had not closed down my earlier blawg since it had a fair amount of accumulated info....oh well, live and learn.
