Not only is this lady a Mayoral candidate, she is the Clerk of Criminal Court. In Orleans Parish, that Clerk is in charge of the entire election process!.....this should be one hilarious election for Mayor in New Orleans!

Sen. Bill Frist & His Congressional Deal to Benefit Drug Companies?

This newspaper report discusses recent legislation that was passed in some alleged back-room deal making without going through the full discussion process. Apparently language was added to legislation which will insulate (or at least protect) drug companies from litigation pertaining to damages caused by the consumption of newly manufactured drugs. The language was added to the bill on the 11th hour just before the Senate & House holiday breaks.
Seems kinda sneaky to me.

A piece of marble recently fell from the front facade of the US Supreme Court building. According to this article, the marble piece fell from the inscription, "Equal Justice Under Law." Maybe someone is getting tired of all the atheist suits clogging up the system.

Mississippi State Hospital's Art Show "Serendipity" Takes Place Today

The Mississippi State Hospital located in Whitfield, MS, is holding its annual art show today. "Serendipity" is in its 16th year and provides a wonderful outlet for the hospital residents. Artwork is sold via silent auction with bidding ending at 6:00.
