Oprah and Faulkner

Slate has a good article about one journalist's attempts to read Faulkner novels. She notes the influence of Oprah's book club in tackling this "chore." As one who has read (but never really "understood") Faulkner, I can certainly empathize. I may look over the Book Club's web page and give The Sound and the Fury one more shot...

Dover Beach

Taking from John Jones' eulogy for Mike Steele (hard to believe it was July, 2004- time flies), I heartily recommend reading Dover Beach and heeding Mike's statement that the poem applies to our lives as lawyers----particularly workers' comp lawyers.
