Switch to Apple?

Currently I am thinking about switching from MS-DOS to an Apple platform. I think this is because the new  (for Mississippi) electronic filing rules and the use of .pdf files for this process. What little I have read about Apples shows that they are very stable and easily operate in the .pdf world. I am going to continue my research for "real world" examples of folks (lawyers?) who have made the switch, and see if they have encountered any compatibility problems.
